As documented by an inscription, the baptismal font dates back to 1470 and was most likely made following a visit from after a visit from bishop Ermolao Barbaro.
The font recalls the importance Saint Firmus e Rusticus Church gained as a parish church, home to the archipriest and site of local baptisms.
The font was built in a quite common shape for the 1400s in and around Verona: the eight sides, framed by a molded edge, come together in sharp corners and narrow towards the bottom.
It has sat in its current position since 1994, after the construction of the new baptismal font.
