Chapel of the Rosary

The altar was made by Matteo Pezzi in 1644 and was placed in this chapel in 1931 by the will of the Compagnia del Rosario.

The altar has imposing proportions and is consistent in the use of gray and pink marbles. The simple shape of the inlaid altar table is juxtaposed with the columns and half-pillars that surround it.

Around the central niche of the altarpiece are painted panels depicting the Fifteen Mysteries of the Rosary surmounted by two angels wearing a crown of flowers. These panels are from the first half of the 1600s.

In the central recess, there is a carved and gilded wooden statue of the Madonna del Rosario with the Child on her knees; a work of local craftsmanship in 1761. On special occasions, the statue was carried out in a procession on a carved and gilded wooden throne, a work from 1761 by Bernardino Dalla Torre.

On the right side of the chapel a painting from the end of the 16th century dipicts the Madonna in Glory with Saints.
